Hi! I’m Dylan Waguespack (he/they), and I’m the founder and lead instructor at SPARK Studio.

When I’m not covered in paint, glue, and pencil shavings while working with kids to build foundational creative thinking and art and design skills, you can find me at my studio in Lakeview, where I have a full-time practice as an oil painter and content creator.

My core teaching philosophy is that creativity is learned through play, experimentation, and curiosity—when we take risks, break rules, and create together in a space that honors different ways of knowing, embraces inclusivity, and invites everyone to explore freely.

As the former CEO of an international nonprofit working to advance housing justice for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC young people, I've developed expertise in the art of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and creative teamwork. These skills not only shaped my professional journey but also ignited my passion for empowering others to embrace their creativity. In a world where creativity often feels undervalued, I believe everyone has limitless creative potential.
